Welcome to Contrast

Garage door

Contrast has been a rollercoaster ride since day one. With nearly as many lows as highs, there’s been never a dull moment. From near-bankruptcy in the early days to a cashflow that stretches for nine months now, we’ve more than a few interesting stories to share. Which we will some day soon! But until then, there are a few folks we owe a lot of our recent success to. These are the guys who’ve been working hard with us behind the scenes and not (yet) in that picture, who today we’re officially welcoming to the company.

Lucie Coley

Lucie is our office manager. Her average day invoves things like battling through some of the worst customer service you’ll find this side of the recession and walking the streets of Dublin city to find our next HQ. Lucie joined us in February and is a godsend. We’d be lost without her.

David Barrett

When it comes to really good front-end developers, there’s a fine line between getting it “right” (faithful re-production of visual design work using best practices in a time-efficient manner) and getting it “perfect” (pedantic, overzealous use of academically correct, bleeding-edge markup). David gets it right time and time again. He’s been contracting with us steadily since November but yesterday, to our great delight, David joined Contrast full-time.

And thanks to our contractors

And to everyone else that helps us look good and puts-up with our high-standards and demanding deadlines, we really owe you guys: Darragh Curran, David Lowry, Mutually Human (John Hwang, Zach Dennis, Craig Demyanovich, Mark Van Holstyn), Walter McConnell, Grace Smith, Bartek Czerwinski, Ladislav Martincik, Ryan Daigle and Pat Allan. Thanks, guys!

Let’s not forget Lucie’s main challenge these days: having the patience to spell your name repeatedly over the phone! :)

I’m glad to join the team.

Cool, congrats folks - didn’t realise youse had gotten to the stage of having an office manager, very civilised. And good to see someone’s made an honest man of Dave B :)

Congrats lads. Well done on the expansion. You’ll need a new photo now!

Btw, your RSS feed is only displaying partial content - forcing me to read the full posts over on your site. Is that on purpose? If so, why?

I don’t know what the hell you guys talk about pretty much any of the time, coming as I do from the Pleistocene era relative to you. But this one I understood, and I’d like to wish you all well because it’s hugely important right now that people like you are doing what you do (whatever the hell it is and all). Congrats and continued success.
