Most consultancies worth their salt become victims of their own success. The story goes: A hungry little consultancy is started by a little group of hungry consultants. The hunger drives their creativity which creates creative work which drives their business to success. The success reduces their hunger and (along with the new-found busyness) there’s no need (or time) for the creative work that made them so successful in the first place. I’ve seen this happen very, very often.
Always be hungry
At Contrast, we’ve decided to always be hungry, because in the long run, we can’t afford not to be. We’re busier than we ever could have hoped for but refuse to stop working on the fun, little (and big) projects that got us where we are. When Niall Harbison, the irrepressible and energetic head chef of Look and Taste, put the call out for a developer with a day to spare for a “big idea”, we knew we had to be involved.
So what’s Twecipe all about?
Simply, if you’re on Twitter, you can talk to Twecipe like this: “@twecipe broccoli, carrots, beef” and you’ll get a response like this: “Try Beef and Vegetable Pie http://twecipe.com/_kaw”. If you’re not on Twitter, you can use the site. And that’s it! A quick and handy way to get quick and handy recipes. Now I’m really hungry!

liked the build up on twitter, will check it out, darina allen used to do this on the radio way back and it was great fun, especially with all the bachelors with nothing in the cupboard

Nicely done. I’m thinking there are going to be a million of these types of apps soon enough!

Thanks guys!
Dave: Totally agree. It’s so easy to put something like this together; we’ll see lots of niche apps like this pop-up over the next year I think.

This is delightful. My friend had the same idea a few years ago but it seemed like it would be too much trouble to source the recipes.
Do the recipe sites have APIs or where are you pulling from?

Well done and thanks - I know about lookandtaste (ifood) for a long time and always thought it was a great idea. I believe Niall is passionate about what he does and has lots of respect for their brand but I never really watched a recipe video until today.
I typed in pancakes on twecipe and got a link for an amazing pancake with blueberries and white chocolate (http://short.ie/xdzyk9) - for the first time, I watched the video and now can’t wait to make these pancakes tomorrow (pancake tuesday)
My point is that twecipe offered me a new way to interact with a brand I knew but never really used.
